Minister Craig Williams
Co-Executive Director, External Ministries
I joined South Side Mission in 2003 and was later ordained as a minister in 2009. Personally and professionally, I am devoted to helping those who need it most in housing projects, dangerous neighborhoods, and the toughest schools on Peoria’s south side.
I am responsible for the outreach of Adopt A Block, Hope Builders Home Repairs, Before School Chapel Ministry in 5 public schools, 4 Food Pantries, Youth In Motion Praise Dance Ministry, Redeemed Boys Mentor Ministry, and I also oversee Elderly Service Ministry.
My wife and I approach ministry as a team, and act together to make an impact-particularly on the youth in our community. I am a proud husband, father and grandfather, and continue to make my family a top priority in my life, surpassed only by my dedication to God.
Rev. G. Frank Winfrey
Co-Executive Director, Chaplaincy
I grew up in Greensboro, NC and am the proud husband of Robin for 32 years. I am blessed to be the Dad of four great kids and Grandpa to three grandkids. Robin and I had the privilege of serving with Cru in Swaziland and South Africa. We then were involved with leading two churches in PA and here in Peoria before I came to the Mission in 1997. It is such a joy to see God changing lives here.
Co-Executive Director, Business Manager
I joined the Mission in March of 2006 as the Director of Finance. My duties have now expanded to Business Manager as I oversee the Financial Operations of the Mission. It has been my pleasure to bring my past business knowledge to the Mission to help develop processes & automated accountability. This helps us to be better stewards of the donations we receive. I have previously worked in the mortgage banking businesses, teaching college courses & other non-profits in Illinois, California & Arizona. I have enjoyed going on mission trips to Haiti & Brazil with my family. I also enjoy traveling, running & triathlons. My husband BJ, who is my high school sweetheart are now enjoying our empty nest stage as our 2 adult children are beginning their careers.
Born in Peoria Heights, I have lived in the Peoria area my entire life, and currently live in Chillicothe with my wife Jody of 33 years. In 2005 she encouraged me to apply for this opportunity in the maintenance department following a number of years working in a machine shop. One of my greatest joys working at the Mission are the children – they give me the greatest joy!
I was born and raised in South Peoria and attended Richwoods High School. I lived in Atlanta, Georgia for 8 years before returning to my hometown and on to South Side Mission in 2008. As kitchen manager, I love working with and uplifting the New Promise Center women along with anybody else I am blessed to meet and work with in the kitchen.
I was born and raised in the Peoria area, having graduated from East Peoria High School then ICC with a degree in horticulture. Before coming to the Mission in October 2014 I was a landscape designer. I’ve been happily married to Shelly since 1995 and have two boys.
God directed me to the Mission to help people as a personal ministry.
Finance & Human Resources
I grew up in Mt. Zion, IL and moved to the Peoria area in 2010 when I married my love, Marty. Together we are raising a beautifully blended family of four girls and a boy. I am so excited to bring my 20+ years of business experience to South Side Mission where I currently serve in Finance and Human Resources . South Side Mission is truly the Lighthouse on Laramie and I stand in amazement each day when I see what God is doing here. I feel so blessed to be a part of His plan for this ministry!
I was born in Peoria and live on the South Side of town. I’ve been married to James Donelson since 1982. Together we have 4 children and adopted 7, 4 girls and 3 boys.
I came to South Side Mission in November 2005. I thank God for placing me here, it’s been a blessing to be here. I never dreamed I would be working at a place where I can talk, sing, pray and read the word of God with no problem, that’s a blessing.
I was born and raised in Mississippi moving to Peoria in 1997 where I started my career on radio as an Accounts Executive/On-Air Personality. I soon discovered a passion working with students and families in District 150 schools as a teacher’s assistant. Having finished my education in Business Management, my love for kids and families remained. I served as a daycare teacher and in several capacities of Social Work before answering the call to faith-based service at the Mission in July 2015.
This is a time that we all need to stand together and fight the tyranny of events happening in our community. I pray that my contributions to this cause will be worthwhile and meaningful. To God be the glory!
Personally, I am the mother of 3 great children, Justin, Mercedes, and Jayda and am married to the awesome Michael.
Except for a five year period of living just south of Chicago, I have lived in Central Illinois my whole life. While living in Bourbonnais, I met my Husband Eric. We have a blended family of three children ranging in age from 6 to 24! Our youngest son was officially adopted from Haiti in 2013. I came to the mission in 2014 and bring with me 12+ years of bookkeeping experience along with a B.S. in Biblical Studies. I am currently the accounting assistant and handle the accounts receivable and accounts payable. I have been blessed to be a part of South Side Mission and see how God is changing lives every day!
Administrative /Accounting Assistant
I joined the Mission in October of 2008 as the Administrative/Accounting Assistant. Raised on the South Side of Peoria I felt this was God’s calling of where He wanted me to be.
Returning to college at the age of 43 and obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. I want to be a leading example to all those people He sends to us, if you put your mind to it you can do it, and with God all things are possible. In my leisure time I enjoy spending time with family, riding motorcycles with friends, and volunteering for special events put on by the South Side Mission.
With a varied background including building trades, purchasing and sales, landscaping, and ministry, I currently work throughout Mission properties caring for buildings and grounds. Previously employed in full time post-prison ministry, I continue today as a regular volunteer chaplain at Peoria County Juvenile Detention. My wife, Jane, and I have lived on Peoria’s East Bluff for forty years. She is an active Mission volunteer and faithful, solid support for me. We enjoy being parents and grandparents along with many extended family and church activities.
