Accounting Manager

Position Description:

Direct and manage the business and operational activities of the organization in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Executive Director and Board of Directors. Ensure the achievement of short – and long-term goals for Thrift Stores, facilities & accounting, following GAAP and ECFA requirements and recommendations. Establish and update accounting procedures to keep pace with changing needs and add additional procedures as appropriate.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Position Description:

Assists with day-to-day operations of the Development department. Supports Development Manager with communications and marketing tasks for South Side Mission. Will work on projects such as marketing campaigns and creation of marketing materials. Helps to identify marketing trends and opportunities for growth. This person is responsible for the Mission’s social media content and growing the Mission’s online presence. Knowledge of video, photography and video editing a plus.

 

Thrift Store Supervisor

Position Description:

Responsible for the oversight of all daily operations. Maintain appropriate customer relations. Ensure neat and orderly display of merchandise and maintain cleanliness of the Thrift Store. Recommend annual budget for the Thrift Store and provide input into it’s strategic planning. Recommend volunteer needs for the store to Volunteer Coordinator. Flexible hours are required, including evenings and weekends.

Assistant Thrift Store Supervisor

Position Description:

Serve as the lead person on the floor. Maintain appropriate customer relations. Ensure neat and orderly display of merchandise and Thrift Store cleanliness. Serve as a fill-in for the store manager in their absence. Flexible hours are required, including evenings and weekends.

Summer Day Camp Staff

Position Description:

We are now hiring for our Summer Day Camp positions!

We will be hiring 8 people to add to our Youth staff for our Summer Day Camp at South Side Mission. Day Camp staff assist in all summer activities and field trips for our youth. Positions are needed from June 24th through the end of July, and applicants must be 16 or older. Please fill out the application posted under the Apply Now button.

Thrift Store Retail Production Lead

Position Description:

Assist with daily operations as it relates to the receiving and production of donations to sort and prepare for sale or recycle. This is including, but not limited to: back stock room (donation area), garbage area, and restroom cleanliness.

Position Description:

Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience for customers. Assist in promoting and selling of
products while maintaining a neat and organized store environment. Other duties as assigned.
