Current Openings:

Youth Ministries Supervisor

This position oversees and directs all activities related to the children and youth programs of the mission, which includes providing Christian curriculum, programs and events. The Administrator is responsible for the spiritual leadership of the department. Flexible hours are required including evenings and weekends.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Directly supervises the employees in the Youth Department and temporary summer staff.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree and/or 3+ years in teaching/and or ministering to youth.

Requirements: Must be able to pass the pre-employment lift test based on the job description. This position is required to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and between 25 – 50 pounds occasionally. Also frequent standing, walking and bending required.
Must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license, clear driving record, and personal vehicle insurance coverage. Possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Camp Director -Camp Kearney

This position oversees and directs all activities related to the operation of the camp.  Develop and oversee all programs and events and establish camp schedule. Maintain the property and buildings. 

Education: Camp Director Certificate through American Camp Association. Bachelor’s Degree and/or 3 years of experience working with youth.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Directly supervises staff in the Camp Department.

Requirements: This position requires lifting between 25 – 50 pounds frequently and 50 – 100 pounds occasionally. Also requires frequent standing, walking and bending. May require working at heights up to 20 ft.

Must be able to pass the pre-employment lift test based on the job description.
Possess a valid Illinois driver’s license (may require CDL designation), clear driving record, and personal vehicle insurance coverage.

 

Ministry Assistant – Children & Youth

This position is responsible for conducting all activities related to youth programs. This staff person will assist in the development of programs and activities, help lead those activities on a daily basis and give leadership to volunteers. They will also be responsible for keeping order and cleanliness of the facilities. Flexible hours are required including evenings and weekends.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or child development preferred, or experience equivalent.

Requirements: Possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Production Assistant – Thrift Store (War Memorial Drive)

Assist with baling our recyclables

Assist with taking donations

Show kindness to our donors and help when necessary

Test electronics

Sort and clean donated items

Sort and process linens and clothing

Trash

Move furniture as intake and out-take

Assist Production Supervisor

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Requirements: This position is required to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 51-100 pounds occasionally as well as moving furniture regularly.

Frequent standing, bending, walking required.

Must be able to pass the pre-employment physical test based on the job description.

Schedule: Hours would be 9-2 or 1-5 Monday-Saturday based on staffing needs.

Retail Associate - Thrift Store

Assist customers as needed. Keep showroom neat and orderly. Organize display areas. Maintain all areas in a neat and orderly fashion.

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Requirements: This position is required to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 51-100 pounds occasionally as well as moving furniture regularly.

Frequent standing, bending, walking required.

Must be able to pass the pre-employment physical test based on the job description.
