When class is in session, meals are prepared and served by the students of the Culinary Arts Training School, which is always a treat.

Please arrive promptly at 11:45 am for a daily helping of hot and delicious food and a devotional message shared by a visiting or staff pastor.

Please DO arrive on time, no late entries allowed.

Chef Chris Franzoni – Chef Chris Franzoni has had culinary arts in his blood for as long as he can remember. Born and raised in Canton, Chef Chris attended The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago, and completed his apprenticeship at the Westin Hotel in Rosemont, IL. After 11 years in Chicago, God called Chef Chris back to Central Illinois to serve as Executive Chef at the Paradice Hotel & Casino. Following a four year stint there, Chris was called to South Side Mission, where he heads up the culinary arts & job training programs. He loves his ministries, saying , “I feel like I’ve finally found my calling here at SSM. Being able to help people make positive changes in their life is one of the biggest blessings in my life.” Chris lives in Canton with his wife Kari, and has three children, Vinnie, Matthew and Emily.
