South Side Stride 5k Strides Again to Shape A Life in the South Side

The Annual Realty Executives South Side Stride 5k Run/1-Mile Walk raised over $10,000 this past August. Runners, walkers, and supporters took to the streets in downtown Dunlap to raise money to help Peoria area’s underprivileged citizens in the 61605 community, move from a life of dependency to self-sufficiency.

Rev. Frank Winfrey, Co-Executive Director of South Side Mission and the organizer of Miles for Meals joined the South Side Stride 5k as he and a few others ran 16 miles from Peoria to Dunlap to help raise money to feed the hungry.

Rev. Craig Williams, Co-Executive Director of South Side Mission says, “On behalf of the Co-Executive team and the South Side Mission staff, we stride daily to love our neighbors and help to shape lives in the South Side one day at a time. Our mission is to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ to the poor and in his name to love, feed, house, clothe, and teach all those people he sends to us. We love what we do and we would not be able to do it without you. Thank you for your continued support!”
