Development Manager
Position Description:
The Development Manager directs and oversees all activities pertaining to fundraising, marketing & communications, and volunteer services for South Side Mission. This includes interviewing and hiring of new staff, planning and assigning work, performance appraisals and coaching and directing of staff under my supervision. The Development Manager works closely with, and directly reports to, the Executive Director (ED).
The Development Manager is responsible for:
- Supervising Marketing/Communications & Volunteer staff.
- Maintaining appropriate fundraising reports for the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors.
- Establish Development goals.
- Donor management- including data collection, visits, cultivation, and stewardship.
- Work with Direct Mail vendors.
- Work with Website vendors.
- Event Fundraising.
- Developing the annual Development budget (including Marketing/Communication & Volunteers).
- Participate in the Mission leadership team.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
Requirements:
Proven fundraising success and experience in nonprofit settings. Experience in team leadership and managing development programs.

Thrift Store Retail Associate/Cashier
Position Description:
The retail associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will play a key role in promoting and selling our products while maintaining a neat and organized store environment.
- May be required to use cash register and credit card equipment to process customer transactions.
- Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment with integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain a positive working environment.

Thrift Store Supervisor
Position Description:

Recommends annual budget for the store(s) and provides input into the Mission’s strategic planning. Recommends volunteer needs for the store(s).

Thrift Store Assistant Supervisor
Position Description:
Serve as the lead person on the floor. Maintain proper decorum and customer relations in the store. Ensure neat and orderly display of merchandise and maintain cleanliness of the store. Serve as fill-in for the store manager in their absence. Flexible hours are required, including evenings and weekends.

Food Service Leader
Position Description:
As a Food Service Leader at South Side Mission Camp Kearney, you will provide leadership in the kitchen and dining hall, ensuring the provision of nutritious and delicious meals that contribute to the overall camp experience. Your role involves menu planning, food preparation, cooking, kitchen organization, inventory management, and supervision of Food Service Assistant. - Prepare meals according to the planned menu, ensuring high-quality presentation, taste, and nutritional value for up to 65 people.
- Accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions, ensuring alternative options are available and clearly labeled.
- Assist at check-in by speaking with parents and campers to understand and confirm allergies and dietary requirements.
- Maintain inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment, monitoring stock levels and placing the weekly orders to prevent shortages.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, storage areas, and cooking utensils. Adhere to sanitation guidelines for a clean and safe working environment.
- Keep daily temperature log for freezer and cooler environments.

Your responsibilities include assisting the Food Service Leader with dish washing food preparation, meal service, kitchen cleaning, and inventory management. Position Description:

You will oversee the health center, administer medications, provide basic first aid, and offer support and encouragement to those in need. Weekly Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications to campers and staff according to prescribed schedules, ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to medication protocols.
- Provide basic first aid and medical care as needed, assessing injuries and illnesses, determining appropriate treatment, and recording camper health log and incident report.
- Assist with camper check-in and health screenings upon arrival, documenting any pre-existing medical conditions or special needs.
- Collaborate with camp Youth Development Leaders and activity leaders to support campers with medical needs during program activities and outings.
- Fill portable water jugs at various activity areas to encourage camper hydration.
- Manage camper lost and found by collecting, washing, and organizing lost and found items.
- With coordination and approval from the Camp Director, communicate effectively with parents regarding camper health issues, medication management, and any medical concerns that arise.

Position Description:
As a Lifeguard at South Side Mission Camp Kearney, you will play a crucial role in providing a safe and enjoyable waterfront program that aligns with the camp’s goals and objectives. You will complete daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance procedures to ensure safe operation and cleanliness of the pool and lake area. You will participate in weekly lifeguard drills to stay fresh of life saving procedures. This is a summer seasonal position.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent experience or currently enrolled in High School or equivalent education program.
Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications:

- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate (or equivalent).

- Perform light landscaping duties such as weed whacking and raking as needed.
- Conduct routine checks of camp facilities and report any necessary repairs to the Camp Director.
Campfire Preparation:
- Build and maintain the nightly campfire, ensuring the area is clean, stocked with wood, and ready for use.
- Safely extinguish the campfire at the end of the evening and clean the area as needed.

- Participate actively in the initial cabin meeting for your assigned cabin group, contributing to camper orientation and group cohesion.
- Assist with the supervision of assigned camper group during mealtimes, promoting proper behavior and adherence to dining hall guidelines.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to ensure the daily clean-up of the cabin living area, instilling responsibility, and teamwork among campers.
- Lead one cabin devotion per week, fostering spiritual growth and community bonding among campers.
- Check camper beds each morning for evidence of bed wetting, following procedures to address any incidents with care and discretion.
- Complete any required forms related to camper evaluation, program feedback, or health documentation accurately and promptly.
- Maintain the Camper Logbook with daily entries as needed, reflecting on camper experiences and interactions.
General:
