Position Description:

The Development Manager directs and oversees all activities pertaining to fundraising, marketing & communications, and volunteer services for South Side Mission. This includes interviewing and hiring of new staff, planning and assigning work, performance appraisals and coaching and directing of staff under my supervision. The Development Manager works closely with, and directly reports to, the Executive Director (ED).

The Development Manager is responsible for:

• Supervising Marketing/Communications & Volunteer staff.
• Maintaining appropriate fundraising reports for the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors.
• Establish Development goals.
• Donor management- including data collection, visits, cultivation, and stewardship.
• Work with Direct Mail vendors.
• Work with Website vendors.
• Event Fundraising.
• Developing the annual Development budget (including Marketing/Communication & Volunteers).
• Participate in the Mission leadership team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director.

Requirements:

Proven fundraising success and experience in nonprofit settings. Experience in team leadership and managing development programs.
