Development Manager

Position Summary:

The Development Manager directs and oversees all activities related to fundraising, marketing & communications, and volunteer services. This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing strategies that support both the short- and long-term financial sustainability of the organization.

This position reports directly to the Executive Director and plays a key role in advancing the Mission’s impact through strong leadership, donor engagement, and strategic planning.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

– Lead and oversee Development, Marketing/Communications, and Volunteer Services staff

– Hire, train, coach, and evaluate team members

– Assign and manage departmental work and priorities

· Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback

– Handle employee discipline and termination in accordance with policy

Key Responsibilities

– Partner with the Executive Director to define organizational mission, priorities, and strategy

– Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising and development plans

– Set and manage annual, short-term, and long-term financial goals (1-year, 5-year, etc.)

– Create and manage the Development budget, including marketing and volunteer functions

– Build and maintain a pipeline of donors (individuals, corporations, and foundations)

– Lead donor engagement efforts including cultivation, stewardship, and relationship management

– Maintain accurate fundraising data, reporting, and analytics for leadership and Board reporting

– Oversee marketing, communications, and volunteer coordination efforts

– Represent the Mission in the community with donors, partners, and stakeholders

– Collaborate with leadership team on organizational initiatives and planning

Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or related field preferred

– 3–7+ years of experience in fundraising, development, sales, or leadership roles

– Proven ability to meet fundraising goals and build donor relationships

– Strong leadership and team management experience

– Excellent communication and presentation skills

– Strategic thinker with strong organizational and analytical abilities

– Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

– Alignment with the Mission’s faith-based values and purpose
