South Side Mission is hiring a full-time Maintenance Custodian. The Maintenance Custodian is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the South Side Mission’s premises, creating a welcoming and professional environment for employees, participants, and visitors. This role involves performing day-to-day tasks such as routine building and maintenance repairs, landscaping, and cleaning across multiple sites and facilities. Additionally, the Maintenance Custodian will collaborate with volunteers to support the upkeep and smooth operation of the Mission’s properties. The following tasks are included, but not limited to:

• Perform general maintenance tasks per schedule, including HVAC.

• Electrical troubleshooting and repairs including security systems.

• Plumbing troubleshooting and repairs.

• Ensure that all South Side Mission buildings, vehicles, and equipment are properly maintained. 

• Provide appropriate custodial and janitorial services when assigned.

• Assist with special projects and furniture arrangement.

• Ensure compliance with building codes.

• Oversee and monitor building safety and security.

• Collaborate with the Executive Director to determine the mission, purpose, and priorities of the organization.
• Establish fundraising objectives for the organization, setting one-year, five year, and longer-term goals.
• Donor recruitment and management, including corporations, foundations, and individuals.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of donors (individuals, corporations, and foundations).
• Lead donor engagement efforts including cultivation, stewardship, and relationship management.
• Maintain accurate fundraising data, reporting, and analytics for leadership and Board reporting.
• Oversee marketing, communications, and volunteer coordination efforts.
• Represent the Mission in the community with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with leadership team on organizational initiatives and planning.

• Lead and oversee Development, Marketing/Communications, and Volunteer services staff.
• Hire, train, coach, and evaluation team members’ performance.
• Conduct employee relations in accordance with Mission policy and procedure.

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or related field.
• 5 – 7+ years of experience in fundraising, development, sales, and/or leadership roles.
• Proven ability to meet fundraising goals and build donor relationships.
• Strong communications, leadership, and team management experience.
• Strategic thinker with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Alignment with the Mission’s faith-based values and purpose.

• $65,000 – $70,000 annual salary

• Will be required to use cash register and credit card equipment to process customer transactions.
• Respond to customer inquiries, requests, and concerns with professionalism and courtesy. 
• Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment with integrity and accuracy.
